Got this for a great price on Amazon! Comes with everything you need to install in a Jeep minus the winch plate. It includes an Aluminum Hawse fairlead which it says in the item description. I was worried because under specs it seems like they cut and pasted the 4 roller fairlead one for cable use. I am impressed with the quality of the winch and the synthetic rope. The rope is attached to the side of the drum with a wide button allen head screw (only thing missing from directions and stumped me a bit) I mounted it on the raised winch plate on the SRC bumper and it looks great. Mount the winch to the plate BEFORE mounting the plate to the frame. Other wise you cant get under the plate to mount the winch. I live and learn. Now for weight 60 LBS, the steel rope one is 80 LBS. I have a 3 inch Teraflex lift on a 2000 TJ. I bounced it up and down then took a measurement before adding this. I lost 1/8 inch adding this and the winch plate. Very minor and nothing worth correcting. I lost 1/4 on top of that adding the SRC bumper and the only thing I notice is a smoother ride :)UPDATE:9 April 2013 The other day a vehicle slid off the packed ice road and into the snow drift in front of my house here in Alaska. I tried to pull her out with my jeep but my tires just spun. Woudn't even budge the vehicle. I hooked up the winch got in and held the brakes. (The cord is plenty long) As the rope tightened the front end of my Jeep began to squat from the pull,as the vehicle I was pulling was much lower geographically. It went down about 4 inches! I'm 160 pounds and if I stand on the bumper it might drop 1/2 an inch at most. This power was amazing! I was so impressed I was waiting for something to break or my tires to explode from the force! Line speed kept quick too! After the squatting was done the urban suv thing I was pulling just started coming towards the road under the winch power (it was in neutral)plowing up all the snow it was buried in on the way. Next time some one is stuck I'm going straight to the Smittybilt!I felt the heat sink end cap 5 minutes after the pull and it was ice cold. Was 25 degrees outside. That vehicles size and the way it was stuck gave me full confidence my winch can pull my Jeep out of anything it gets into! It has survived constant extreme temp changes going from -40 into the heated garage with no ill effects. I keep it covered as my research on the Dynema rope found the only thing that effects it is UV rays. The instructions recommend using the winch once a month whether you need to or not to keep it working smoothly. Makes me wonder why some of those catalogs that try to sell over priced stuff say this is for occasional use.I buy high quality all the time. And this winch is built superbly! Save your self hundreds over those other guys this is well made and and can pull like you wouldn't believe! I have not been shocked by the performance of something in a long time, as I age quality seems to become harder to find, you wont be disappointed here! I love it and will try to post on durability when its a year old. Its on month 5 of Fairbanks Alaska winter at this time.
