Conducted two home tests, both indicated radon levels that were off the charts. Installed this fan in conjunction with a sealed sump pit cover, and sealed all foundation cracks as well with caulk. Third radon test reported a radon level of 0! Installation was not hard at all once I got over the anxiety of cutting a hole in the side of my house. Worth every penny not worrying about having a house full of radon gas. Radon gas is the second leading cause of lung cancer so if you have an issue with radon you need to buy this fan. Noise level is low inside the house, but can be heard if you are trying to hear it. Guests aren't able to hear it even after pointing it out to them though. Noise level outside is higher, but not enough to warrant any complaints. Motor is more than just warm to the touch, but not overly hot either. This is a continuously running fan, no on/off switch so install the PVC pipe, mount the fan, plug it up, and that's it. There aren't many reviews out there for this fan and these were the points I would have liked to read about prior to purchasing so there you have it. Excellent product, has been operating flawlessly for several months now.

We purchased a new home, upon having a complete home inspection, radon levels were between 8 and 9ppm, extreemly unacceptable. I called an expert in to remedy, they wanted $ 2000.00 plus, I purchased the Tjernlund RMS160, installed it in under 2 hours, I then had the radon levels checked again, with levels under 2.5 very acceptable according to US Government standards.The total costing me under $450.00 all materials included. Thank You Amazon for offering this fine product.

What I found attractive about this product was that I could mitigate my radon levels in my basement without putting ugly looking pipes along the side of my house. It does what it says it does. It would be nice if there was a speed control (it's a little loud), but since it's in the basement.... good enough!
