Good But...

Pro's: Can be used in many ways. Will replace my 8 foot step ladder and I needed a 10 foot step ladder and an extension ladder and now I have one. This is my second ladder and it is much more sturdy than the first one (the first one looked like it had been well used and then returned).Con's: This thing is heavy. It is a bit awkward to move around. Hands get dirty because of the aluminum. I do not think this is necessary. Also have to watch your fingers when you set it up or you may lose one! Not sure of how long it will stand up as I did get one before and it was really lose and unstable, but this one seems good.All in all I think it is good. I will keep it but it is not a 5 star unit. But with a few fixes at the factory, I think it could be a 5 star ladder.

Versatile ladder

I bought this ladder from walmart for $117 and really like it. It's easy to adjust and reasonable light considering it's size/versatility. My only complaint is it makes my hands black when I handle it (despite trying to wipe it all off).

Drywall Bench

Ordered a drywall bench from Discount Tommy off of ebay and it has been very handy. This is a great item to have around the hosue for a DIYer. My husband also uses it for work on construction sites and everyone agrees that he got a great price on it. Overall, have been very happy with our purchase and had no problems ordering from discount tommy - a very smooth and satisfying transaction.

Works good for this big boy.

This bench is very solid and stable. Seems very well built. I am about 230 pounds and I can stand on ends and bench does not tilt. My only cons are that all four legs must be adjusted individually (but the numbers next to holes helps) and that the aluminum spring clips that hold the legs when folded are a little flimzy and bend easily. Other than that though I am very pleased with the bench. ( PS: I highly recommend Discount Tommy, their service is great, I had a small issue with shipping and they took care of it quickly with no hazzle)

Solid construction, good size

My requirements were fairly simple:- Solid construction that will last,- Not so heavy I never want to pull it out,- Wide enough to move around on,- Collapses for easy storage.While not quite perfect, this bench hits all of those features better than any I had seen. It is not the lightest thing in the world, but most people with the strength to put up drywall will be able to move it around no problem. I also use it to paint interior walls because I don't have to move it as much as a step ladder, but my wife wouldn't do the same because this bench is too heavy for her. It collapses nicely, but is still fairly large, as the bench itself does not fold or collapse, only the legs.The manufacturer did not compromise on quality to make the product lighter or collapse smaller, and that is why I'm still giving the product five stars. It is well constructed and should last a lifetime.

Poor Customer Service w/poor support

These fans are installed at rough-in during new construction. I installed ours in October but we had no electric nor were we ready to run the unit until we moved in . . . actually had power and a dryer hooked up. It was 4 months after purchase when we ran the dryer for the first time and discovered that the unit actually did npot work. We were refused any accomodation because the fan return policy of thirty days had expired.Order from a supplier who understands construction and will support you after the sale. I had to purchase a second unit and bought it locally for the after-sale support.

So far this product is great, cut the drying time in half. Only been using it for a month so hard to tell about wear and tear. I would recommend that the Fantech FC 4 Mounting Clamps be included in the dryer booster kit, even if the price of clamps were added to dryer kit.

Great heater!

I haven't seen the electric bill yet so I'm giving this heater 5 stars. I had previously bought one of the propane Reddy Heaters (RLP50VA see my review on that) to heat my garage but that heater was completely unsuitable for that task. This one is perfect, it heats up the garage quickly and is quiet and clean. It is a 240v heater and requires a hardwired installation so is a little bit of a pain but I wired everything up and had an electrician friend come check out my work before I turned it on and all was OK. Needed a 30A dual pole circuit breaker and 10/2 wire along with a junction box and flexible connecting cable but it was worth the effort! My garage is a garage under (standard Colonial) 26x22 so the ceiling is insulated but nothing else is. Living in NH, a heated garage for working on the cars is pretty much a necessity and I would recommend this heater highly.

I was skeptical, but now very impressed

I built my woodshop which is well insulated (R19 in walls, R40 in ceiling) and about 460 square feet with 8 foot ceilings. Living in Iowa, I was skeptical whether this heater could do the job where it sometimes gets 10 to 20 below for several days in Dec and Jan. Those fears were alleviated.Edit as of 01-03-09. The local news just advised that here in my area, it is the 9th coldest December since 1897 when they started keeping track. They also said it is the second snowiest December on record. There were several days below 0 and a couple to -20 ambient temp which is common in those months any Winter.If you are at all concerned that the heater can handle a level of cold that commonly reaches 33 below (wind chill) and -20 ambient temp, worry no more. I kept the heater on the third mark out of 10 and it maintained between 49 and 53 depending on the coldness of the night. When I went out to work, I turned it up to a tad beyond LOW and it leveled at 60 degrees. It's also very quiet in that I'm able to have a normal voice conversation with anyone present and we aren't really aware when it turns on. Very nice not have the smell of fuel oil in the air. I'm very happy with the purchase.Edit as of Dec of 2012 - Unit still works like it was new. I'm now on my 5th Iowa Winter with this in the shop and haven't had any issue at all. I'd make the same decision tomorrow and highly recommend it.

A great little unit!

I needed dependable heat for a small (480 sq/ft) woodworking shop. Prior to installing this unit I was using a Monitor kerosene heater which was plagued with mysterious 'shut-downs'. Because of limited space a wood stove was out of the question, so I gave this unit a try; it's more than adequate (I live in Maine) to maintain comfortable working temperatures even on the coldest of days. Got my first electric bill yesterday and it wasn't nearly as expensive to run as I had thought...adding maybe $100 to the total electric bill (and the unit is running 24/7)!All in all, an excellent source of shop heat.

Pretty stilt horrible quality

hmm bad points then good pointsThe footpad is not made of "durable rubber" but instead is some type of plastic. this means that if you so much as get a near a smooth surface the stilt tries to reverse its orientation.The cuffs that wrap around your calf are made out of plastic. Mine shattered 5 minutes out of the box because the stilts fell over from a standing position.Customer service still hasn't responded to emails.stilt looks amazing and walks nicely as long as you stay on rough surfaces.$300 is way to much to spend for a Work tool of this nature that needs modifying and cuddling right from the box.

These are a little bit heavier than the dura stilts...but, GET THEM! If you have any doubts, don't. Take it from a seasoned 20 year contractor who has all the cool new gadgets. I can easily wear these for more than 6 hours with no soar legs or most importantly, no soar back.

Super Quiet

Replaced an old fan that came with the house with this one. I knew that it will be quieter, but holy cow, it is near silent. You will have to be listening for it to hear it. Sucks air through like a vacuum and the quality on the construction is top-notch.

My electrician installed the fan but told me something is wrong with it. The fan did not work. However, I told him to leave it as is in my ceiling. After couple days I found out that it is so quiet that is very hard to hear it.
