4Necessary but expensive
By Freakachu
This is a high quality accessory kit for the Panasonic FV-20NLF1 WhisperLine 240 CFM In-Line Fan, 6-Inch Duct and really adds a professional installation touch. However, these parts can be found at big box home improvement stores at less than 1/2 the price but take a lot of searching to find. Your choice: save yourself the time and buy this, or not.

2Good items, but can be bought seperately for lower price
By S. J. Pidgeon
I am usually very diligent about pricing out my purchases, but for some reason I just went ahead and bought this without stopping to wonder if I could get the component parts more cheaply. I was buying the panasonic inline fan at the same time, and I think this popped up as a suggestion. It was only when I opened the box when it dawned on me that this is actually quite a sparse collection of very basic part. I went to a bathroom fan website and priced them individually and the total came to just under $100. So I overspent by $15. Not an utter disaster but I kind of feel foolish. The parts themselves are fine. The panasonic vent covers look great, and I'm looking forward to installing them. The dampers are fine - I suspect if I were buying individually I may have got some higher end ones. The y joint is quite poor - I'll need a lot of tape on it to seal the joins. But I guess it's quite a basic piece of kit.So overall - the materials are fine, but if you take an extra 2 minutes online you'll be able to bundle them yourself.

4Good Set. Y link looked as if it does not belong to the Kit.
By Q. Meng
Very good qualityExcept the Y link, it is thin and mine needed further sealing along the joints. If you are using insulated duct, it takes some patience with this part of the work with limited space.I used a piece of paper board to cut an 8 inch hole as a dry run, it worked great.I also first taped a transparent plastic bag around the line of the hole that I was going to cut in the ceiling with blue marking tape, and then put my saw through the bottom of the bag to reach the ceiling, then I drilled one bigger hole and a few small holes along line, then started the cutting of the drywall, i caught the patch when it fell and the bag caught most of the dust from cutting.I also used two pcs of hlaf by one inch wood above the ceiling drywall for the screws to secure into, worked well. After installation, I used crackling foam to further seal the fitting edges from the attic side.I ONLY wish I had drawn lines in the ceiling parallel to my window line to make the work look more professional.
