We upgraded to this fan from a run-of-the-mill fan from our local home improvement store that looked good, but wasn't at all effective at clearing steam from the bathroom, and was noisy.This fan is so quiet that we often forget that it is on. Really, it's true. "Oops, the bathroom fan is still on!" is a commonly used phrase in our house. Which isn't a bad thing for air circulation in our home.When we are showering, the fan leaves almost no steam in the room at all, mirrors do not fog up, etc. It is incredibly effective at removing steam and moisture from the bathroom.Appearance wise I was skeptical from the product picture. The fan looks really nice installed on our ceiling, and is very low-profile. The light is bright enough to be a solo bathroom light, but having additional lights above the mirror for makeup application is nice.One thing to note: the fan has night light functionality, but does not come with the light bulb for the night light. Plan on buying one before installation.

The unit looks nice. Fan is quiet but the air flap doesn't seal out drafts when fan is off. Energy efficient lights (2 bulbs for normal light mode) but have special sockets and special bulbs. Hope I can get replacement bulbs in the future. Must order night light bulb separately (why ?) as well as wall switches.
