I reviewed many different brands of winches with similar capabilities....I decided on the Warn Brand based on past reputation, quality, expectations. This unit was approx. $150-250 more expensive than the comparables......I bought it anyway assuming that on resale the value would be back at that time. IT ARRIVED .......The constuction of the unit is different than pictured in the sales brochures, ads, and even on the box. As configured, the control box CANNOT be mounted over the motor as pictured ( particularly with the mount bracket provided ).The bracket that mounts the control box over the motor ( as depicted ) should be provided. The power cables are so short, they will not reach the Bats on the firewall of a CJ-7 Jeep ( gotta save that few bucks that an extra 2 ft of #2 cable would cost, HUH ????? ) I will have to replace ALL of the power cables, particularly since I am mounting the unit on a receiver hitch, and buy additional connector plugs to accomodate attachment and diconnection from the power source. Do some research and shop other brands....DO NOT BUY ( as I did ) on the WARN name...it does NOT live up to it's past reputation !!!!!!! P.S. Installation instructions are inadequate, incomplete, and generally SUCK,... BIG TIME !!!!!!!

This Winch is fantastic... pulls almost anything with ease. Would defiantly recommend this for anyone who is thinking about a winch... save yourself the time and effort, and buy a quality product from the beginning. I know it is a little more expensive, but it is a quality product that I will stake my reputation on. P.S. Make sure you have a good Battery.
