4Nice. Uses class ii hitch. Has remote control and simple electrical hookup ....
By microeconomics
First of all, it is hard for me to get too critical here because this is my first winch. I can say that it is super slick and I am very impressed with this model. I really like the hitch mount (make sure it is class ii), and the remote combined with the easy electrical make it a "store and put on" when you need it kind of device. Just be careful , weighs like 100 lbs... the electrical is a somewhat simple harness designed to hook into your battery. The cables are shorter and it clearly means it is designed for the front. As most winches are. However, most people will not have a class ii receiver on the front ...The other bummer about the short stock electrical wiring is that a promising use for this type of winch is with a trailer. In that case, you will have to do a bit more wiring and may need a mechanic ...or be very comfortable doing wiring.I have not tested its full strength yet, but for the few logs I pulled off the hillside, it was excellent. The rating is pretty high at 7500 pounds and I feel confident in its construction to pull that load. Just make sure you have the proper counter weight ...One of the covers was damaged during shipment. I called the company and they promptly shipped another to me. Excellent. A big plus for customer service.Overall, the unit is really nice and seems well thought out with decent to high quality construction. I am sure you could find a smaller more compact winch out there , but for this rating and this kind of (expected) durability, it might be hard to find.Very pleased.

4Keeper 7500lb portable winch issue resolved promptly
By Momma Mary
I had a brand new Keeper 7500lb 4.5 hp portable winch professionallyplaced on the front of my 18 ft car hauler trailer. It cost me $90. I canremove it if I need to but most of my winching needs will be with the trailer. The winch comes with everything you will need to install and operate. Ithas a 15' hand held switch(with a led work light built in, which I foundto be very convenient when working in the dark hours)and two remotecontrols also. I preferred the hand held operation compared to the remotebecause the remote had a little delay time involved and I didn't care forthat. But if you had to stand further than 15' away from whatever you arepulling up the remotes would work very nicely. It comes with 74' of wire cable that is more than sufficient for the average pull up a trailer. The unit calls for at least an 650 cca battery. Since the unit is suppliedwith 72" leads and a quick connect system it is designed to be wired fromyour vehicle battery (they also include a circuit breaker). But I wantedto have my system more portable in case I used the trailer without thevehicle that had the leads hooked up. So I got an 800 cca gel batterythat I can take with the trailer and use with any vehicle. The way I have mine set up works perfectly and I mostly haul large 60's cars. The only problem I had when initially testing the winch on pulling a 67 Impala onto the trailer was that on my first pull the quick connects overheated and melted! It had to get really hot because the quick connects are made of veryheavy plastic. To check and see if the connects were messed up somehow (you can only connect them one way)from the factory I pulled the plastic connects off and hooked the wires directly together with electrical tape. I figured if it was themotor acting up it would melt the tape immediately. I taped the wiredtogether and continued pulling the car up. No problems at all. So Icalled the manufacturer and explained the problem and they immediately sentme a replacement set of quick connects which I then installed and tested the winch again and they worked perfect with no overheating issues. They said this was a first for them & the only way it could do this was if there was space between the connectors, if they weren't clicked all the way together. Ours clicked but this must have been the issue because it did not happen when we attached the second set.The manufacturer said they would do what ever it took to rectify the problem so I'm giving them an A+ for customer service. Overall the winch works very well and I expect it to continue to work that way for many years. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that you have to repeatedly stop and hand guide the cable as you winch an item as there is no cable guide on this winch, bummer! it would be 5 stars if it had that feature.

5Powerful and Safe Assistance with Tractor.
By Heather LaRee
The KW75122RM-1 winch by Keeper is a quality product. My husband hooked it up onto our Kubota tractor. The hitch mount makes it relatively easy to install/remove when not needed. I say "relatively easy" because this unit is heavy. Sliding it into the receiver can be tough-- but would not be much of an issue on a standard hitch mounted on a vehicle. The wireless remote is something I would not have generally considered a big attribute, but after using it, it definitely IS a "plus". Not having to drag a cable under the tractor is very convenient and more safe.I can't speak to the power-rating because it has pulled everything I have tried. Tree stumps, stuck equipment, and a large and heavy planter containers with ease. It may actually be a little more heavy duty than I needed but I'm glad the power is there for when I do need it. I live on a 10-acre tree farm and there's always something requiring heaving lifting or pulling.I have not yet tried it on a vehicle, but with the convenience of hitch mounting, should be no problem when the need arises. The only complaint or suggestion I would make is that the battery cables are too short. It's not a problem on my tractor installation, but I can see it could be with a rear-mounted hitch and a battery under the hood.I would recommend this this winch.
