my fans (2) run 24/7 they have been running for about 18-20 years. Every 3-4 years one of the motors is shot and since I am not able to fix them myself I end up buying a new fan.I raise American Singer Canaries and the sheath of the feather creates dust and apparently it is too much for the fan (even thought they get air blasted out) and they need to be replaced. originally the fans were under full warranty, that is why I bought them, however now you have to buy your own replacement, this is not the deal I had when I originally bought them. I don't appreciated when people change the rules after the fact.runs nice and quiet

.We installed two of these in 2002. Used every day, and no problems yet."Just say no" to noisy little fans that don't move enough air!** Be sure to check alternate amazon listings for this item. Prices vary a lot.PROs: * Quiet (2 Sones is quite good) * Good flow. Moves steam and odor out fast.OKs: - Tasteful, not ugly - For bathrooms up to 175 Sq. Ft. according to NuToneCONs: - Expensive - Installation is a little more hassle (see Note 1)- - - More Info - - -Specs and Install Guide easily found at the NuTone siteSpec Sheet says "Do not mount over bathtub or shower stall" but ours is right in the shower stall ceiling. The insides are somewhat rusted, but no problems yet.- - - Alternatives - - -These two highly rated fans are about $25 cheaper and even quieter than the QT200, but they move about half the air. - Panasonic FV-11VQ5 WhisperCeiling 110 CFM Ceiling Mounted Fan - Broan Model QTXE110 110 CFM Ultra Silent Bath Fan- - - Notes - - -Note 1: The 3-1/4" x 10" rectangular discharge will require an adapter if venting to a round roof vent.
