I have broken about 6 hydraulic floor jacks over the years and wanted to try something different than the standard floor jack so I went with the air model. Having never used one I had no idea how they worked. As it turns out there is an air "motor" that in turn pumps the fluid to the piston. The jack is only 100 lbs so it is a lot easier to maneuver than the heavy standard floor jack. And with a regular floor jack, once you get the lifting part under the axle there is not enough room to pump the handle, unless you get one or the HUGE 400 lb jacks. I am only using this to lift my F450 so it is not getting much of a workout in my case. There is only 4" of lift but with the adapters it works fine. Why three stars? It has a rather cheap feel in terms of build quality. The two section steel handle has a bolt that pinches the tube where it connects to the frame, not a very positive attachment and I am waiting for it to fall out. Also the unit did not come with the handle bolt so I bought a 10mm bolt at ACE. The knob at the end of the handle turns a drive shaft that opens/closes the release valve to lower the vehicle. There is an incredible amount of slop in the drive shaft. The unit is shipped from China with a few pieces of cardboard to protect it. The cardboard does nothing to protect the unit, mine arrived with the welded carry handle bent into the jack body. At some point I might beat it out with a mini sledge hammer. The unit also arrived with 3 Hair Cotter Pins for securing the adapters to the base plate, since these were floating around in the box during shipment they were all smashed to the point of being unusable.There you have it, a "Junky" feeling tool with horrible shipping that works for it's intended purpose. I just hope it lasts as I have only used it for a day so far.
