Best garage heater hands down
By Lawrence E. Hart
Best garage heater I could imagine having. Really. Here's the thing. Do you want to go to your garage and get from freezing cold to warm, QUICK, so you can get right to work? Then get this heater. I fooled around with baseboards, oil filled radiators, Kerosene's, and small 1500 watt fan heaters that often took hours to warm up my single car insulated garage in Spokane. When I first turned it on (and smoked for awhile to burn off the oil on the elements), it took the temp from 45 to 65 degrees in 15 minutes, to 72 degrees in 25 minutes. So much heat you can't hold your hand right in front of it. It blows away everything else I've used and you can feel the fan all the way across the room. This is REAL heat. And fast.Info. Hooked it up to the factory default 5700 watts, 19,454 BTU/hr (about as much as a full sized barrel-type kero heater without the fumes or price of kerosene, and heats the room better because of the forced air fan), 240 volts, used a 30 amp breaker and 10/2 wire to a clothes dryer cord/plug and receptacle. Set it on a shelf to swivel and tilt, spaced 5" from wall for safety. They recommend mounting it next to a wall and blowing across the wall for best results but I couldn't, due to shelving, space, and of course "ergonomics", so mine sits at the back in the middle of the wall blowing straight out into the room towards to doors, still works way better than I figured.Made in Seattle, USA, high quality commercial grade parts, all metal construction, except for plastic knobs. Should last 15-20 years. I waited till March, should have put this in back in October, have no doubt this will do even when it's below zero outside. Heard other reviewers say this heater can heat a 2 or even a 3 car garage, I believe them. Small for what it does, and more money, but DARN worth it. Thanks Seattle. Thank King.

Ok
By Jared Bennett
This heater is pretty good so far. I have a 2 car insulated garage including door. My wife sits outside quite a bit because she is a smoker. I Installed it 6 feet above her head and tilted it downwards. So in her chair she stays very warm. The heater will heat for about 10 min then heating element will shut off and the fan will blow the excess heat off before starting the element again. Power saving..So for her she is hot for 10 min and warm for 5. The garage would probably get to the temp you want in 1 hour and stay that way if you left it on. I could get my garage to 80 easy if i left it on for a few hours. Be aware you will need an electrician for this heater, unless your handy..cost me about 200 dollars. I have documented last months power bill and will post again when i get this months. It is probably on for a total of 1 hour a day.. 2 Hours on weekends. The pick a watt thing is kind of confusing. It comes at 5700w and if you want you can unplug an element inside the heater and use less power. If you are looking for some serious heat my brother just bought a propain type heater and he could heat his garage to 80 in 5 min and keep it 100 easily. I will post on propain usage as winter goes by..

Great Heater
By Al Monty
This heater rocks!...I purchased this heater to provide warmth for my 3 season porch (16x20x9) and am very impressed....We live in NH and can not typically enjoy this room past October....Our 3 season porch is enclosed by 8 sliding glass doors and is totally finished with the exception that is was not heated....I blew some cellulose insulation (R60) into the attic and was looking for a cheap solution to provide some heat so that we could enjoy this room throughout the winter....This heater easily heats the room within 30 minutes.....We have had weather in the low 20's so far and we have been able to enjoy this room like it was September ...Considering it is a garage heater, the appearance of it is not distracting as it looks like an oversized speaker....I wired a 30 amp switch before the thermostat so that I could turn the heater off when we were done on the porch yet still enable the fan to blow throughout the cool down stage....If you use the dial on the heater to turn it off, the fan will be disabled and will not be able to cool the heater down....Of course you can also turn the thermostat dial down all the way but if the temperature drops below 40 the heater will kick on....This heater does not come with a power cord, so instead of wiring a clunky dryer cord onto the unit, I wired a pigtail from the unit and made my electical connection in a junction box....This maintains a nice clean look....
